Access for all with Kee Access® fittings

Whilst Safesite specialises in safety at height in the form of collective and personal fall protection systems, we also strive to ensure safety at ground level in the form of safety barriers and handrails.

According to the Equality Act 2010 (formerly DDA), ‘reasonable adjustments should be made’ to public and commercial establishments to avoid and overcome physical barriers which might prevent access for disabled people.

To that end, Safesite offers the Kee Safety Kee Access® range of modular tubular fittings, which allow the construction of guardrails and handrails in almost any configuration and location compliant to Equality Act standards.

Kee Access® fittings are designed to provide a smooth, uninterrupted handrail with size 7 tube, and are ideal for creating new barriers, or as a retrofitted solution thanks to their modular design.

You may have seen yellow Kee Klamp® and blue Kee Access® handrails at various railway stations or public buildings across the country. Combined, these allow easy and safe access for the elderly and disabled whilst meeting the requirements of the Equality Act.

We can provide powder coated handrails in a variety of RAL colours allowing huge flexibility with colour contrast options, and we can also take into account branding concerns.

The Equality Act also requires handrails not be ‘cold to the touch’. Our powder coating meets this requirement, ensuring all handrails remains at a safe temperature, whilst bypassing many of the main issues of standard paint.
