Manual Handling Assessor Training
Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) such as back pain are the most common cause of ill health with around 1 million people affected a year, costing an estimated £5.7 billion. These injuries occur wherever people are at work in places such as building sites, factories, offices, warehouses, hospitals and whilst making deliveries.
Legislation
Where workplace risk assessments identify a requirement for manual handling that cannot be avoided, the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (as amended) require that a manual handling assessment is undertaken. This assessment is to be carried out by a competent person and should identify the hazards involved in the handling task in order that safe handling procedures and/or equipment may be introduced to reduce the risk of injury or ill-health that may result during these handling tasks.
Who will benefit?
This training will benefit employers, managers, supervisors and employees with responsibility for either managing or directly involved in Manual Handling operations
