Training & CPD
Knowledge of equipment and current legislation is vital in order for those
involved in the design and specification of a building to be able to provide a safe
working environment and for those supervising the work, using the
equipment or involved in building maintenance such as AC and lightning conductor
inspection to be able to do so correctly.
A key element of the Work at Height Regulations is training in order to ensure
the competence of all when it comes to work at height. This includes not only
those carrying out the work but also those who are involved in the organisation,
planning, supervision, supply and maintenance of equipment.
Those working at height must be trained in how to avoid falling and how to
minimise personal injury should they fall. Anyone who needs access to an
area of height, irrespective of whether they are directly or indirectly employed
by the company, must have adequate training and supervision. This includes
contractors, sub contractors and any maintenance worker who might need
access to equipment.
Managers and supervisors must also be trained so that they are able to
identify risks, prepare a clear safety method statement for those carrying out
the work and ensure that the work is ultimately carried out safely.
As part of our commitment to ensuring safety at height we run a
series of CPD training seminars for architects, designers and surveyors.
Held at our Head Office in Crawley, Runcorn Northern Office or at the client’s
own office, the CPD Seminars provide those involved in the design and
planning stages with advice on the risks which may occur for those involved
in either construction or maintenance of a building.
Once architects, specifiers and surveyors have a clearer understanding of the
dangers related to work a height they will be able to eliminate hazards or reduce
the risks wherever possible by correctly specifying which equipment must be used.
CPD On line:
The Project Height Videos explain what happens
if you fail to comply with the Work at Height Regulations.
Following each video there is a CPD module you can complete online.
