Health & Safety Consultancy
At Safesite we understand that it is often difficult for companies to keep up to date with changes in legislation or find the time, resources and expertise to enable the required levels of compliance.
With this in mind we have developed a comprehensive and cost effective range of packages and services which are designed to enable you to make your working environment a safe place to work.
Our health and safety services are different — whether it's one of our bespoke packages or a standard service, we listen to your concerns, discuss your requirements.

HEALTH & SAFETY SERVICES
Safety Auditing
Safety auditing is a valuable management technique that is highly recommended by the Health and Safety Executive. A health and safety audit will show exactly how you measure up to legal requirements, and whether your health and safety performance is up to standard.
Risk Assessments
Companies are legally required to arrange for a "competent person" to assess all health and safety risks in the workplace. Safesite's qualified health and safety practitioners can carry out a wide range of risk assessments on your behalf including, workplace, fire, working at height, DSE and manual handling.
Policy & Safety Manual Review/Development
As well as being a legal requirement for organisations of five or more employees, a health and safety policy is a useful document which formalises the organisation and arrangements for health & safety. The policy not only shows who is responsible for what, but also provides rules and procedures for all the relevant health & safety topics. Evidence of a valid policy may also be required from you by your own clients and the enforcing authority.
Fire Risk Assessments
Carried out by experienced assessors, Safesite's Fire Risk Assessment is a highly practical and systematic process that allows companies to identify and reduce fire hazards. We are able to assist the "responsible person" within an organisation by providing legally compliant Fire Risk Assessments of any or all of your premises.
Manual Handling Assessments
Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) such as back pain are the most common cause of ill health with around 1 million people affected a year, costing an estimated £5.7 billion. Our trained assessors can carry out a thorough assessment of the hazards associated with individual tasks in order to either reduce the risks or recommend alternative solutions.
Display Screen Equipment Assessments
Frequent use of Display Screen Equipment (DSE) can lead to a number of health problems including back and shoulder pain, eye strain and RSI. Safesite can help companies reduce the risks by assessing individual workstations and recommending any remedial action that might be required or by training staff to complete and manage DSE assessments themselves.
Work Equipment Assessments
Safesite's trained auditors can assess the hazards presented by the use of machinery and work equipment in order to control these risks through either the design of the machine or by introducing safeguarding measures.
COSHH Assessments
Using chemicals or other hazardous substances at work can put people's health at risk. Under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH), employers must control exposure to any hazardous substance which can be harmful to the employees and others. Safesite's trained assessors can carry out a risk assessment of the hazardous substances used in your workplace and recommend the most appropriate control measures for these substances.
DDA Access Audits
Safesite's trained auditors can help companies to identify physical and non-physical barriers within the workplace by conducting a comprehensive audit of the premises and services. During the audit, all areas of the premises are assessed. Having discussed financial resources with you, a report and recommendations are provided to help guide you in deciding what is required to make your premises accessible to the disabled.
Working at Height Assessments
The Work at Height Regulations 2005 place a duty on employers, the self-employed and any person who controls the work of others to do all that is reasonably practicable to avoid, prevent and reduce the consequences of anyone falling. Work at height is not just limited to building or roofwork. In reality work at height is an essential part of many jobs including window cleaning, changing a light bulb in an office and even stacking shelves in a supermarket. Safesite's professional and comprehensive Work at Height assessment complies with all legislation and is tailored to your specific requirements.
Accident Investigation Support
Safesite's experienced practitioners can support you in the event of an accident by providing advice or assistance and helping you to put in place procedures to avoid similar accidents occurring.
Health & Safety Training
Providing suitable training for your employees is a legal requirement. Our scheduled and bespoke in-house training courses cover a range of health and safety topics including Asbestos, COSHH, Workplace Risk Assessments, Fire, Working at Height and Stress. All our trainers are experienced safety practitioners and are City & Guilds qualified to teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector.
