Fire Risk Assessment

Overview

Every year, fire costs UK companies millions of pounds, from damage to property, loss of business, litigation, fines, compensation claims and increased insurance premiums. It can be the end for small businesses, although many fires can be avoided by taking fire precautions.

Legislation

As a result of the Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, fire certificates will no longer be required and employers will have a legal obligation to carry out fire risk assessments of their premises in order to identify requirements and implement procedures.

A Fire Risk Assessment must be carried out by ALL organisations under the Fire Safety (Regulatory Reform) Order 2005.

The Fire Risk Assessment allows you to identify and reduce fire hazards. It will then help you to decide on the physical fire precautions and management procedures necessary to protect the safety of people on and around your premises.

Our Service

We are able to assist the "responsible person" within your organisation by providing a legally compliant Fire Risk Assessment of any or all of your premises. The Fire Risk Assessment is a highly practical and systematic process that looks at the following:

  • Identification of workplace fire hazards and risks to life
  • Fire safety management guidance and advice
  • Preparation of fire emergency plans, evacuation procedures and records
  • Advice on fire fighting equipment, alarms, emergency lighting, signs, equipment maintenance and related fire safety documentation
