DDA Access Audits
All premises accessible to the public must be fully compliant with the legislation set out in the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (as amended) by October 2004 (DDA).
If you provide services to the public, your organisation has a legal obligation to ensure that it does not discriminate against people who may find it difficult to gain access to your premises or your services and to make reasonable adjustments where it is justified to do so.
Under part III of the DDA you must now
- Not refuse to provide a service or provide a worse service to people with disabilities unless on health & safety grounds
- Review and where necessary change the way you work to comply with the DDA requirements
- Provide auxiliary aids or services if necessary
- Remove or overcome physical barriers by providing alternative, reasonable services
The Auditor Service
Safesite's trained access auditor can help you to identify physical and non-physical barriers within your workplace by conducting a comprehensive audit of your premises and services.
